At SPC, safety is more than a requirement—it’s a culture driven by the people on our job sites every day. This month, we are proud to recognize an outstanding laborer from the Jamaica Stand-By Generators project who continues to set the standard for working safely, efficiently and to the highest standard of excellence.
We are proud to recognize Salvador Pena, SPC Construction Local 731 Laborer, as this month’s Safety Champion for his outstanding commitment to safety, leadership, and collaboration on the jobsite.
As a laborer at the Jamaica Stand-By Generators Project, Mr. Pena has established outstanding leadership and promotes best practices to ensure that every worker can return home the same way they arrived at the end of each day.
He dedicates time to training new employees and laborers on site, ensuring they understand and follow the best safety practices while building a strong and united team. Salvador also maintains a positive attitude from the beginning to the end of each workday, setting an excellent example for everyone around him.
“Mr. Pena always looks out for his co-workers and never hesitates to speak up when something is wrong.” says Safety Manager, Saul Calle. “He consistently demonstrates the correct and safe way to perform the work, helping to maintain a strong safety culture on site.”
His actions reflect the importance of engaged and dedicated workers, who ensure that the workers remain safe and the jobsite runs smoothly and efficiently.
